The Kent and Covington City Councils have passed Resolutions expressing support for Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Proposition 1, which will appear on the upcoming August 3rd ballot. Voters will be asked to approve a permanent fire benefit charge to fund emergency medical and fire protection services.

This vote addresses the ability for Puget Sound Fire to simply continue its current funding through the fire benefit charge and is not an increase. If approved, Proposition 1 would permanently continue the current funding methods utilized by Puget Sound Fire to provide emergency medical and fire protection services. Thank you to our partner cities for supporting our mission of continuing to provide sustainable and effective services to our communities!
