Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
Make a Difference
You can make a difference in our community by using the CERT training we offer to save lives and protect property.
On a normal day, emergency services personnel are the best trained and equipped to handle emergencies and we all count on them for their expertise. However, following a catastrophic disaster, emergency response personnel may not be able to help everyone immediately, because of the size of the area affected, loss of communications, and impassable roads.
The Puget Sound Fire CERT program serves the areas of Covington, Kent, SeaTac/Burien, Maple Valley, Fire District 37, and Fire District 43.
Classes
The next CERT session starts on Thursday, September 21, 2023 and will be held every Thursday through November 2, with the final on Saturday, November 4. See below to register.

CERT training gives you the skills to help save and sustain lives following a disaster until help arrives. Take a look at the course description.
Register
When registering, please choose either the afternoon class (1:00-4:00pm) OR evening class (6:00-9:30pm). The training is free. You are welcome to attend the training if you live, work, or spend time in the Covington, Kent, SeaTac/Burien, Maple Valley, or Tukwila areas.
